Spiral growth..

Nature likes to grow things, from microscopic shells to stupendous spiral nebulae, in the form of a spiral.
Spiral growth has the remarkable property that it expands by growing longer on its curves. Spiral growth becomes indefinitely larger without changing its shape while it grows.
Spiral growth is termed equi-angular or logarithmic. This is because the angle between the spiral's growth line and the extending base-line remain the same.
A sunflower seed-disk must get larger in all directions at once. It must remain circular while it grows. It uses equi-angular spirals of growth.
